| With thanks to our sponsor IGL, the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®) Australia Chapter, in conjunction with the Australian Business Analysis Association (ABAA) present a talk by Tim Coventry. Introducing the IIBA Business Analysis Competency Model A business analysis competency model is an important tool for improving the quality of Business Analysis within organisations, and subsequently the outcomes for organisations. A good BA competency model can benefit Business Analysts and their managers by assisting them to: - identify and prioritise areas for improvement
- select appropriate training courses or professional development activity
- create plans for development in current and future roles
- choose the right job
Organisations can use the model to: - build and maintain the right balance of skills
- benchmark and compare skills across the organisation
- assist staff recruitment, development and reviews
- better respond to changing and emerging needs
- assist with succession planning
To achieve these benefits, a BA competency model must reference a solid set of knowledge areas, tools and techniques. In February this year, the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®) will release version 1.0 of the “Business Analysis Competency Framework”. With over 50 competencies, all traced to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK®) v2.0, this initial release has a rock-solid foundation. In the 5 years since its first release, the BABOK® has become the standard reference for Business Analysts and organisations around the world. With the feedback and support of thousands of IIBA® members and partner organisations, the new competency framework is also set to become “the” global standard. This presentation will explain the framework’s history, vision and additionally outline the IIBA® road map for 2010-2011. Event Details - Date: Wednesday, 10th March, 2010
